stoked on global warming

school is out.  it's may.  it's warm.  it's glorious.

summertime just makes me feel awesome.  the sun is a little closer and everything seems so laid back.  when the wind blows it no longer resembles the sensation of cold knives stabbing my lungs, more of my skin gets to soak in the vitamin d, and best of all... i almost never have to wear shoes.

yes, warm weather makes me feel like a damn hippie... walking around in sandals or bare feet, loving the hell out of mother nature, wanting to grab my guitar and play folk songs on a grassy hill in the park.

and honestly, there's just something magical about warm nights... riding a bike to the movies, walking to the closest sevs for a slurpee, hanging out on the back porch with pals, lying in the grass making up constellations because i only know two real ones (orion and the big dipper, represent!)... these are some of my favorite activities... none of which require a jacket.

and even though warm weather makes me feel like things should be laid back, i feel an increased motivation to go DO things.  here are some examples of things i want to do this summer...
  • go on bicycle adventures on the regular
  • eat outside
  • take photos on the regular
  • read books outside
  • hike with my dog on the regular
  • make music... outside
  • go camping on the regular
  • basically just be outside ...on the regular.
most of the things on my list are simple, nothing extravagant... which fits perfectly with my mood that seems to come with warm weather.  it's all about enjoying the moment and taking advantage of all the rad things around here that are so easily enjoyed when it's not freezing ass cold.

my dog knows what's up.

i love this place.  i love this season.  i love being outside.  so here's to another badass summer.  cheers, y'all!

p.s. i still love winter, so haters don't get your hopes up... in a few months i'll be blogging about how excited i am for snow.  but until october or november, i'll be STOKED on the warm weather!
